Workplaces that need to be protected from electrostatic discharges are called Electrostatic Protected Area or ESD workplaces. Thanks to anti-static equipment, e.g. anti-static work clothing and ESD safety shoes, electrostatic charging usually caused by friction is prevented in these areas.
